MEET #NATETHEGREAT

You know that little recipe we've been working on for nine months? Well, he's finally here! This post is long overdue as we're already seven weeks into parenthood, but as they say, "Better late than never!" It's been a crazy adventure so far with our little man, Nathan, but we couldn't be happier. Read on to get the full scoop of what life has been like in the COCOHAUS kitchen since our cutie pie arrived!

Many people told me that being a parent is a love like you've never experienced, and that is completely true! I stare at him with wonder, worry about him all the time, and am completely amazed when I realize that he grew from nothing into this little being in less than a year. While being a new parent is rewarding in its own way, it's anything but easy! I'm constantly telling people that I have this newfound appreciation for all parents out there, including my own. So, kudos to all you parents! You deserve a major award for not only dealing with sleepless nights, crying episodes, poop that keeps on coming, and more, but also sacrificing a lot to raise happy and healthy children.

You know how I said it was a wild ride so far? Well, it all started when my water broke three weeks early, so we didn't have much time to wrap things up before Nate's arrival! After 20 hours in labor and an emergency c-section, our sweet boy came into this world at the end of June kicking, screaming, and healthy! While we did have to deal with a short precautionary stay in the NICU due to the emergency c-section and a little bout of jaundice, we got to take home Nate five days later, and he has been loving being at home ever since. Since he came into the world, we've been adjusting to life with a newborn, plus me recovering from the c-section surgery. We've finally made it to the point where I'm feeling back to my normal self (recovering from a c-section is no joke!), and our little Nate is cooing, smiling, laughing, and holding his head up. I can't seem to get enough of him! This kid loves listening to classical music, watching MasterChef with mommy, and doing tummy time with dad. He's a wonderful baby, and we feel so blessed to have him in our life!

Now that I'm moving around better, I'm back in the kitchen, whipping up recipes and experimenting with new flavors to share with you all! Stay tuned for a bunch of great stories to come. :)
